Safe buying and selling: rules that protect you
3 min read

The vast majority of people are honest. These rules exist for the rest.
Meet in a public place in daylight — a petrol station, a café, a car park with cameras. Bring someone along for expensive items.
Pay on pickup, never in advance. “Reserve it with a payment” from an unknown profile is the internet's oldest trick.
A too-good price is a warning, not luck. A phone at half market price usually carries a story you don't want to inherit.
For expensive items, write a simple contract — two sentences with names, price and date cost nothing and settle every later dispute.
Trust your gut: if something feels off in the chat, that item exists twice — you don't.
